Allah enlarges provisions or restricts.
Allah says in the Quran in several places that He enlarges the provisions to some people or restricts some people. This idea is very true in the world we see as Allah always speaks the truth. There are rich people with a surmountable number of provisions and there are those with meagre means of provision.
Allah says in the following verses when speaking about this subject.
Sura Rad (Thunder) Verse 26
٢٦ اللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ وَفَرِحُوا بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا مَتَاعٌ
26 God dispenses the provisions to whomever He wills, and restricts. And they delight in the worldly life; yet the worldly life, compared to the Hereafter, is only enjoyment.
Sura Isra (Miraj) Verse 30
٣٠ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِ خَبِيرًا بَصِيرًا
30 Your Lord expands the provision for whomever He wills, and restricts it. He is fully Informed, Observant of His servants.
Sura Ankabut (Spider) Verse 62
٦٢ اللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
62 God expands the provision for whomever He wills of His servants, and restricts it. God is Cognizant of all things.
Sura Room (Romans) Verse 37
٣٧ أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
37 Do they not see that God expands the provision for whomever He wills, or restricts it? Surely in this are signs for people who believe.
Sura Saba (Sheba) Verse 36
٣٦ قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
36 Say, “My Lord spreads out His bounty to whomever He wills, or restricts it; but most people do not know.”
Sura Saba (Sheba) Verse 39
٣٩ قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُ ۚ وَمَا أَنْفَقْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ يُخْلِفُهُ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ
39 Say, “My Lord extends the provision to whomever He wills of His servants, or withholds it. Anything you spend, He will replace it. He is the Best of providers.”
Sura Zumar (Crowds) Verse 52
٥٢ أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
52 Do they not know that God extends the provision to whomever He wills, and constricts it? In that are signs for people who believe.
